PLAY supported by Morrison's and CSV's Action Earth
On Saturday 21st June between 10am and 12 noon a working party from PLAY
set about cutting back brambles and nettles, trimming trees and clearing
an overgrown corner of the recreation ground in Leigh. This is part of a
project to reclaim the recreation ground for the use of local children, to
provide a safe, attractive area in which they can play.
PLAY is a group made up of parents in Leigh and other local supporters who
are working to provide a better environment and more facilities, at the
recreation ground, for the children in Leigh.
The activity is part of a five–month campaign called CSV Action Earth
supported by Morrisons supermarkets. The campaign is organised by the
national charity Community Service Volunters (CSV) and involves over 900
voluntary organisations, businesses and community groups that will be
undertaking projects that are of immediate and lasting benefit to the
environment.
