Exciting cricket in Leigh

The recent Saturday matches have seen close and thrilling finishes with Leigh batsmen pulling out all stops to win.

The match on 7 June against Warnham was a fine example.  The visiting team knocked up 183 runs.  With six wickets down the odds seemed stacked against the Leigh team, though there had been some creditable innings.  Alex, probably the youngest member of our team, set out to hit some fast runs with an aggressive style, hitting many fours.  Finally, with only four balls left, and eight to win, he hit a fast ball hard well over the pavilion to win the match.

Alex being congratulated by the skipper
for an exciting innings sealing the
team's success.
