Let St Bartholomew's resound to 'Songs of Praise' on 23 September
On Sunday 23 September crowds of parishioners are expected to attend a
special 'Songs of Praise' in St Bartholomew's Church at 6.0 pm.
16 hymns have been chosen from a wide selection of people and
organisations within the Parish. Even a brave ten year old lad, Jack
Griffiths, will, like five other villagers who selected hymns, be asked to say why they selected
their hymn. Jack says "The Songs of Praise service is a good idea to
get people to choose their favourite hymn or song". Come and hear
what he and the others have chosen and why.
Geoff Lloyd will be playing the 'Skinner' cathedral organ, and his son,
Tom, will be playing the trumpet. The 'Robed Choir' will add volume
and harmony from the gallery, all making it a very special Leigh occasion.
