Who says Leigh can't do it?  Show, floats and all - what a stunner!

The 100th Summer Show did great justice to Leigh.

The pictures in this issue of the e-newsletter will include some of the colour and the tremendous part played by the children of Leigh.

Bob Flowerdew, of BBC Gardeners' Question Time, opened the Show.  Here he is standing between two scarecrows

A long parade of vintage cars formed
the first spectacle, organised by Colin Dawson.

Then came the floats with the Leigh Bell Ringers in the lead.

The Leigh Cottage Garden Society
Junior Group's float, with members in Victorian dress.

The PLAY float followed, PLAY being the organisation working to create a really good play area for Leigh.

Finally came the
Parish Council Float representing the farming community
of Leigh

Two lamas were paraded round before many people had
 arrived at the Show.

This shows the detail
of the Junior Garden
Group's float.

In the Show Marquee, the children's' displays were magnificent.
