Spate of crime in Leigh
Dean Oak Lane has had a number of crimes and suspicious happenings.
The Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator for Dean Oak Lane was contacted about
a suspicious car which had been seen parked in the same place two days
running. He immediately rang our local policeman who discovered who
the owners were and "paid them a visit" There was, of course, no
offence there, but I doubt if they will return to his beat!.
There had been a distraction burglary when a wallet containing cards and
money was stolen. The police came and took finger prints etc.
Another occupant further along the road reported a suspicious car parked
at exactly the time of the burglary. She was able to provide the
police with details. Some days later the wallet was discovered in a
ditch in Norwood Hill with the cards inside, but the £80 gone.
In another part of Leigh lawn mowers and garden equipment was stolen from
two houses, both more or less consecutively.
If you see something suspicious or there is a crime, please report it to
your local Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator as well as to the police as
quickly as possible.
