Cricket Club

Leigh Cricket Club is an archetypal village cricket club playing friendly matches against local villages, clubs and nomadic sides.  The Club has two teams of all ages, one plays on a Saturday and the other on a Sunday, our session running from April to September.  There is a membership of over 80 playing and social members, and, as well as the cricket, social events are organised throughout the year.  Most matches are played at home on the beautiful ground with its pavilion.  New members, both social and playing, are always welcome at this friendly club.

Contacts: Richard Slade on 01293 862563, or Jeremy Budd on 01293 862416.

Fireworks for the Village
Every year the Leigh Cricket Club organises the Leigh Village Bonfire and Fireworks evening on the Recreation Ground.  The huge bonfire and massive display of fireworks are enjoyed by the Parish and visitors.  The BBQ, and the bar with a mulled wine made to Barry's secret recipe are an added attraction.

The evening is funded and organised by the Leigh Cricket Club with generous donations from the members.  Donations of fireworks from all on the evening are again greatly appreciated.  Those attending are asked to bring a few large fireworks to add to the fun.

The 2007 Firework show was a true village activity and was a 'spectacular'.
