| The First Leigh Brownies The pack was started in 1968 as a loan pack within the village, meeting on Wednesday evenings in term time between 6pm and 7.30pm in the Village Hall (Abbots Pass). The Brownies do many craft and skill activities such as backwoods cooking, trail hunts etc. They have recently changed to a more modern style of uniform than in the past. The leader is Yvonne How (Brown Owl) and there is also Snowy Owl and Tawny Owl and some young leaders, many of whom come to do their Duke of Edinburgh Award. |
The Brownies visited No 10 Downing Street with Brockham Brownies,
did first aid, and also went kayaking at Southwater.

| The 23rd Dorking Leigh Cubs The 23rd Dorking Cubs meet in the Leigh Village Hall (Abbots Pass) on Monday nights during school term times. It is a lone pack, and has been for the last 20 years, but it is a group that likes plenty of challenges, making a name for itself in winning the District Football in 1998 and the District Cycle Race in 1999 and 2002. The summer camp at Blackland Farm was a great challenge, surviving the worst three days weather of the summer that year. The Cubs today in the group are between eight and ten years old, all thirsty for new adventure, a great challenge to Akela and Rama (Yvonne and Dave How). |
The Cubs' activities included rock climbing
and zip wiring, and the cup was won for the District Cyclecross. The
Cubs also went kayaking.
