The Leigh Broderers   were formed at the end of the last century to create kneelers for St Bartholomew's Church as a Millennium Project.  Advice, friendship and refreshments are available at our monthly workshops (details given in The Leigh Post, the Parish Magazine).  Horizons are broadened at intermittent 'church and pub crawls'!   All have in common the interest of making a gift for St Bartholomew's Church, which will form a decorative archive depicting many aspects of life in the parish.

Broderers' contact numbers:  Pam Burke 01293 862420, Sue Frost 01306 611071, Christine Padmore 01306 611365

The great Leigh Sew-in 2005

The Great Leigh Sew-In on 24 September 2005

There was a constant flow of young and old (and ages between) all trying their hand at brodering - placing their stitches into the huge altar kneeler which is being prepared for St Bartholomew's.  They were all making their mark in the history of Leigh by helping to create a kneeler that should last for centuries.
